          Some of those guys are pretty damn strange, like Cynical reviews. He isn’t homophobic or racist, but also hates “SJWs” and things. These people have concocted an imaginary villain in their heads that they rally against even though their own personal opinions line up with “the enemy” 90% of the time anyway.

            I myself have a knack for ultra-edgy shock humor as long as these conditions are met:

            1. the substance isn’t pro-bigotry;
            2. what they’re trying to say is communicated properly;

              That first one is the key here though. 90% of right wing “shock humour” isn’t actually trying to shock the audience so much as it is “hey, (insert minority here) sure do suck, right guys?” Shock humour is supposed to challenge commonly held beliefs and assumptions about things. This sort of stuff isn’t actually shock humour, it’s just racism or sexism or homophobia that they pretend is above criticism because it is a “joke.” The goal is to reinforce the audience’s ideas about something, not challenge them. It’s just plain old punching down cruelty.

                I remember seeing a meme of Peter going full on racist over getting killed in COD and laughing at it for some reason. Then after rubbing the few brain cells I have I realized the meme is criticizing racism in gaming.
