After 20 days, he’ll be asked to conscript again. If he refuses, he’ll be sent to jail again. This will continue till either he agrees to conscription or the military stops requiring him.

    Yeah, that definitely changes the calculation. I thought it was just 30 days in prison and you’re done, but this could be years, especially if the government has the incentive to try and make and example out of you.

    I guess it makes those conscientious objectors even braver than I thought.
