Ohio man, 81, fatally shoots Uber driver, 61, after scammers target both of them, officials say

So many things about this story don’t make sense.
First off, we know court officers always hold people hostage and demand ransom 🤦♂️
“The calls turned from ‘I’m an officer in the court’ to ‘We have this subject hostage, this is a ransom demand.’”
The second one is that he’s charged with three counts of murder, when he only killed on person, and thirdly he could be held for 15 years in prison or a 15 grand fine. That’s a big difference.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
“Mr. Brock received some scam call by a person purporting to be someone from our courts who informed him a family member was incarcerated and that he had a bond of a significant amount of money,” Shultz said.
The person who called Brock, or an accomplice, requested an Uber ride to his South Charleston home to pick up the money, Shultz said.
When Hall arrived at the home and approached the front door, Brock confronted her with a gun and asked her who she was working for, Shultz said.
Hall did not threaten Brock, have a weapon or assault him, according to the sheriff’s office and a complaint filed in Clark County Municipal Court.
Officials have not identified the person who requested the Uber, and have not said if they have made any additional arrests in connection with the case.
Brock was originally arraigned on a murder charge in the Municipal Court of Clark County on Wednesday and posted a $200,000 bond.
The original article contains 508 words, the summary contains 162 words. Saved 68%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
If I am going to die with this dotard shooting at me, I am at least going to take him out with my car.
