Horseshoe theory strikes yet again. I doubt he understands what Communism or Fascism are.

I don’t see why you assume that they adhere to horseshoe theory. How I understood them was an attempt to call out the discrepancy between being commie while supporting a fascist regime, albeit the killing part was not tasteful, but again no worse than “the only good nazi is a dead nazi”.

Not tasteful? He told a communist user directly that they needed to be killed.

If not a fascist, if not a liberal, just a fucking moron. Regardless, a provocateur, and he deserves ceaseless mockery.

I looked through a lot of their comments and saw an abundance of “killing” statements, mostly against CEOs of oil companies and such. As a figure of speech, I do think it is fine. I for one will not pretend I have not said anything similar about the capitalist class. To me it seems you are reacting to who they said it about, and then I think we need to try to understand rather than mischaracterize: If not just swallowing the rage bait of OP (sorry OP, but I think it is) and actually investigating the convo, it should be clear that they are conflating their belief that OP is acting in support of a fascist regime with OP being actual fascist and subsequently saying that fascists got to be removed. Irony is that if MonsieurHedge had bothered reading OP’s comments better and not get a rage boner, they would too see that OP is not a fascist pretending to be commie as they claim in another comment.

I want to respond to this comment telling you that you should be killed for something you said, to make a point, but I won’t because it’s gross. You’re a human being, I’m a human being, and neither of us are fascists. It would not be fun for either of us to receive a reply, ostensibly from a ‘comrade’, that us and our kind deserve to be exterminated.

It seems to me Monsieur is immature and uneducated, especially if they are equivocating critical support for Russia to fascism, or even accusing Russia of being a fascist state when compared to, idk, any other European nation. They need to log off and reflect on the way they interact with others.

That’s like saying “as an anarchist how can you support the oppressed rising up if the organization is hierarchical” (not that some anarchists don’t agree with that logic, but there are also better and anti-imperialist ones that don’t). “If you’re not at your goal every step of the way are you really trying to achieve your goal?”

You are not wrong. However, it is also possible to through such questions pose valid problems such as whether the organization is going in the right direction and is it actually making progress. My main issue is with the comment I responded to reducing the dissenting voice to a stupid fallacy along with the sentiment of "I am smart and they are notslamdunk ".

I still think it’s valid to dismiss someone who calls for killing communists because they critically support Russia.

That is an okay assessment. I would generally dismiss anyone calling to kill anyone for whatever reason, but as I wrote in another comment this person did not seem to me to call for killing anyone as much as using it as part of a vernacular of who needs to be dealt with to fix society, which is frequently employed by leftist in various forms (usually with respect to the bourgeoisie). I think people from Lemmygrad should not be surprised that others are disgusted when they voice support of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on other instances. That it isn’t more of a controversial subject here is to me a little surprising, speaking from both an ideological and pragmatic point of view. Not that this excuses the “need to be killed” comment, but I do think the context is important and that OP took the exact excerpt needed to incite rage and that this was done purposefully.

It gets at something real, but there are better, Marxist ways to articulate the truth it’s pointing to. (I admit, I have a deep repugnance toward getting on board with anything said by Karl Popper).

The fact that Popper is the one constantly cited re: the paradox of tolerance almost makes me immediately dismiss anyone who brings it up, even if the point is there.

Popper was an anti-socialist hack with very little useful to say. Unfortunate that he had that one good thing to say.

And then people ask me why I want to see the west frozen over, baked over, and cratered out. Ain’t no salvaging liberal ghouls like that. Ain’t no re-education. Just mulch 'em and move on with the rest of the actually-humane, multipolar world.

Damn, just like a microwave lasagna. The worst fate imaginable.

Can’t say I really disagree though, I would rather a drop in QOL in the west leading to people getting a sense of perspective and getting rid of all these ghouls, but sadly, people in the west are probably too far gone. We’ll be living in wattle and daub “mud” huts and working in the X mines for King Elon III, watching Chinese hyperjets flying overhead and insisting that our peasant lives are better because we have the freedom to work 18 hours a day.

I hate these dumbass redditor types who, to make up for the fact that they’re probably extremely timid in real life, sit behind their computer screen making death threats: “if I was in charge, I’d be absolutely RUTHLESS, just like Robespierre! Then mom, dad, and my high school crush who rejected me – oops, I mean the bourgeoisie – would see how tough I REALLY am!”

In reality, no genuine communist sheds human blood lightly. Sometimes it has to be done, but it’s always a tragedy, and we don’t celebrate it.

Same here. I genuinely believe every death is a tragedy, for various reasons. For bad people, I feel bad that they often had a shitty start in life, and they could have made something of themselves, but due to circumstances and really shitty choices and evil actions, they end up dead.

That being said, there are definitely lots of shitty people who belong in the dirt, and I won’t feel as bad about it when they deserve it.

      Hasta la victoria siempre!

We’ve got to kill the communists to stop fascism! Brilliant, just like the fascists wanted to do. Really shows anti-communism is just fascism.

don’t side with fascism against liberalism

    does exactly that

I believe that every death is a tragedy, and great care should be taken to avoid violence and death when reasonably possible. But every single capitalist, landlord, offending pedophile, rapist, neoliberal dronie or capitalist bootlicker that gets put in the ground potentially improves and saves the lives of thousands.
