I’ll start- I thought it was great! I wanted to open up a forum for anyone who went to share their thoughts, observations, or in general, drop their socials to further network.

A couple things:

  • I wish it were longer - maybe a 2-3 day event with more detailed, heads down work.
  • If you had gone through the WWDC videos and explainer videos for the sample code, it was a refresher + some new updates in visionOS 2.0
  • It was GREAT to hear from the first-party team and see how eager they were to work with people on the ideas that they brought in the event
  • FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK, FEEDBACK. THE APPLE TEAM WANTS TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT IN THIS PRODUCT. THEY READ IT ALL AND PASS ALONG TO THE CORRECT TEAMS. THIS MEANS… IF YOU WANT A FEATURE, REQUEST IT. THEY WANT THAT TO FIGHT FOR YOUR IDEA INTERNALLY (“IT’S WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!”)
  • Another thing to note was that it was hard to follow along with the coding portions of the talk because they were inserting snippets of pre-written code. It was a time-constraint thing (solved by point 1!).

Overall, I think it was a great scene-setting event. This + the Vision Hackathon last month are really invigorating a solid developer community - I definitely sought a few people out that I knew virtually from the hackathon.

Hope to attend more! And would love to hear what people think that went… et tu??
