Two reviewers I deeply respect had two polar opposite opinions on the game.

    WorthABuy(hates it) and GManlives(loves it)

From my understanding, if you want a space game… Look elsewhere.

If you want a Bethesda title, keep playing, because that’s what it is. It’s a space theme ham-fisted into the Creation engine with little change made to support it.

Personally, I’m still interested. I’ll probably pick it up, but the enjoyment seems to stem from your initial idea of what the game was going to be to begin with.

GManlives expected an RPG shooter and got an RPG shooter.

WorthABuy expected Elite with Fallout elements and got an RPG shooter instead.

They both still got the same game.

As for me, it’s a Bethesda game using the Creation engine and that also means… Mods, all the mods, a truck full of mods, for atmosphere, improvement,… boobs. This game is going to be a very different purchase in a year.

Or in ten years in its 20th rerelease. Thing is, and that’s my problem with Bethesda in general for many years, that from what I’ve seen it’s yet one more of the “release it, idiots will buy it because of our name and modders will do our job for free and make it into a proper release.”

Then again, I haven’t played it myself and most likely won’t, that’s just from reviews I saw (even positive fanboy stuff) and a couple of let’s plays. It looks a lot less buggy than Skyrim or FO4 on release, but equally as unfinished from what I’ve seen. And not from technical inability or rushed release, but on purpose.

I hope I’m wrong and that I will eventually buy it and enjoy it, but Bethesda does the same shit over and over since Skyrim and it went from ‘cute’ to ‘insulting’ by now after all these years.
