A panel discussion hosted by Nodutdol (@nodutdol) on March 1 [2022] (삼일절) with past participants of our Korea Education and Exposure Program (KEEP) trips. They speak to their first-hand experience traveling to North Korea. We hope to provide an alternative narrative about the North Korean people, promote peace, and share work on the campaign to lift the travel ban to North Korea. More info https://nodutdol.org/

They cover a lot of topics in this panel. In general the panel consists of people of the Korean diaspora from various countries and life experiences, and what their experiences in DPRK were like as they visited there over the years and the experience of connecting with Korea as people in the diaspora. They also talk about how sanctions impact DPRK and about what they observed of society and daily life in DPRK, differences they observed between the socialist and capitalist system (for example they talk about very different attitudes and practices about housing and about automation), and un-learning imperialist propaganda about DPRK. In the panel they also take time to call for the lifting of the US travel ban which prevents travel to DPRK.
