I just realized that you might have intented for that to be sarcastic but in case you didn’t: I believe the idea that working together to survive is what keeps species alive, that does mean that they are not directly added to the gene pool but not that they are useless when it comes evolution.
But isn’t that evolutionary uselessness.
We shouldn’t reproduce just because it leads to prolonging a species. If someone doesn’t want to be a mother then that’s ok.
