Not having a good camera is a no go for me, unfortunately. It just seems the case that “ethical” manufacturers cannot compete with good cameras.
Didn’t read the article yet but I have read comments about lack of minijack somewhere else on lemmy.
More mega pixles does not mean more better. The actual sensor sensitivity and design are more impactful on image quality.
This one has a 25 MP front camera, which sounds like a good camera to me.
Edit: It gets even better!
On the back you’ll find a 48 MP main camera with OIS and a 48 MP wide-angle camera with a macro feature. The third circle on the back isn’t a camera; instead, it houses a laser autofocus system, color sensor, and a time-of-flight sensor.
MP doesn’t matter if you can’t get good pictures.
I think it’s important to educate the public that more MP doesn’t mean better. More MP just means a larger sensor but it doesn’t mean anything regarding the optical lens quality.
Here is a review https://www.dxomark.com/fairphone-4-camera-test/
Despite the technology update, the Fairphone 4 does not come close to the category leaders Google Pixel 6 and Apple iPhone SE and occupies one of the lower spots in the DXOMARK Camera ranking for High-End smartphones.
It’s just too expensive for the specs you get.
I’d Love to have a phone like this, but it seems like it’s already outdated.
