We all know that a proper knife is dead useful, especially back in the day. Coins were not really invented yet so these people used knifes as their coins.

Yeah, there’s parts of Atlanta where people use knives instead of money too.
These were knife shaped coins, not normal usable knives.
Koreans had jeon-pae (전폐). Coins that were arrow tip shaped
