I don’t think it’s crazy, just desperate for validation.

There is a myth in evangelical Christian circles, I believe acknowledged in the article, that candy canes have their color (white for purity, red for blood) and shape (upside-down J for Jesus) and taste (sweet like the gospel) to explicitly communicate Christian doctrines. There is even a children’s Christmas musical performed in churches at Christmas based on this principle. As much as one may approve of the doctrines, Christians holding steadfastly to a particular origin of candy canes regardless of the evidence seems dishonest and misguided, if not outright idolatrous to me.
Florida Man in Alaska?
They know their law is bad, and don’t want the evidence to get out.
How surprising that the guy who’s an asshole in public is also an asshole in private!
Funny how the Orange idiot encouraged Iran to build the bomb by trying to stop them. And I’m sure the advent of Trump 2.0 in January only pushes them harder.
The amount of candy cane myth that is believed wholesale and unquestioningly by modern American churches is amazing.
With some googling, I found on a forum a script you can use to download the text and bundle your own ESV Sword module. Try searching for ‘“ESV” sword module’.
Word is that E-Sword has an ESV license, and it doesn’t look terribly expensive.
They don’t publish an ESV Sword module any more, sorry! I have one I bought a while back, and have manually installed every time I change phones.
There aren’t AndBible modules, but the Sword modules are independent, so you can just install whatever modules you want with either front-end.
For additional Sword modules, try looking on Bible.org and CrossWire.
For me, something based around Sword is important, as it allows you to use a bunch of different Bible versions, commentaries, dictionaries and other works that you can freely download from various repositories. My app of choice is AndBible, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. I don’t know whether or not they collect any information, but I believe they do have a warning before you search for Sword modules, since accessing those databases can identify you as a Christian.
EDIT: No, sorry, the warning is on BibleTime, my desktop app of choice.
And it’s a stimulant. Nothing worse than feeling miserable from a cold and unable to sleep because of pseudoephedrine.
I think Mucinex has been demonstrated to be as effective as phenylephrine (i.e., not).
It depends. Does he collect them because they’re cool and he wants to trade with friends, or to play the game and win? If it’s the former, get a bunch of packs (I think they typically have of order 10 cards each, and you’re guaranteed one of the better cards with nice art). If the latter, you would need to ask so you get something that works with what he has; one possibility is to get a trainer box that has cards that tend to work together, or you can buy decks that previously won a championship or something.
He pardoned himself in his mind, same way Trump declassified those documents.
Similar boat here. While we’ll probably be all right, I fear for the vulnerable and weak.
Surely any roadblocks you put in place quickly by one party in power can be removed quickly by the other party in power. Again, I think what’s going to matter is those few people in the administration with standards and allegiance to the country over party, and loud outcries from the people when they touch something important.
