    …knee high thistles…

That all you got? Mine literally block the sun.

I’ve got Palm Warblers and Goldfinches up in that shit, and the flowers are absolutely covered in bees right now.

Also my yard sparkles at night. I’ll probably take the thistle down when it looks like its going to seed, since it’s not native, but while it’s providing useful habitat and not spreading, I’m going to let it be.

No, in this case, the government would have killed 0 Jews, and instead provided weapons and ammunition to a long-time ally who suffered a brutal terrorist attack just a year prior and was in the middle of a bloody vengeance campaign that had gone way beyond the scope of neutralizing the enemy and had become a full blown extermination campaign in which Hitler was outright calling for the use of nuclear weapons and complete annihilation.

But, that far in to the weeds and the analogy breaks down because you’re just describing the very specific situation that happened back in November.

You’re also assuming that it’s only working at traffic lights. My auto stop would activate when the car was slowing down under 10mph. It also activates in car washes and when the car is parked.

But hey, fine, if saving 190 million pound of CO2 from entering the atmosphere buy turning off idling engines isn’t the answer, what would you do to save that much CO2 from running ICE vehicles instead?

This isn’t even close to analogous, here is a better one.

“Real leftists” would have been more than happy to write in a niche candidate instead of ensuring that Hitler didn’t become Chancellor in the first place. And then they will have justified it by saying that Germany was going to fail anyway, and they rather have it happen sooner than later, and that none of the blood of the 6 million Jews about to be worked and gassed to death is on their hands.

If every car in the US had auto stop and drove similar to yours, it would have stopped 190,000,000 pounds of CO2 from going into the atmosphere in those 3 years.

Even environmentally, the extra batteries we need to produce will be more harmful than the miniscule exhaust will be.

Extra batteries aren’t required for Auto-stop. If battery wear was significantly faster due to the feature it wouldnt matter, batteries are much more recyclable than burnt gas.

I had auto-stop on my last car, and the battery made it 9 years before I finally had to replace it, and when the feature wasn’t working (too cold out) it made a noticeable impact on my fuel economy, around 3-5 mpg.

  • It’s almost like voter disenfranchisement works.

It only “works” because the individual voter did not vote.

    Blaming the electorate achieves nothing.

IMHO, it achieves a lot more than voting 3rd party.

The electorate didn’t fail the dems, the dems failed the electorate.

The electorate failed themselves. They listened to Russian propaganda about Kamla killing babies in Palestine. They fell for republicans fantasies of red strongholds so tough that Democrats shouldn’t even bother voting. They fell for the general apathy about their choice sown by foreign assets and transmitted like a fucking online mind virus.

All I can say is; They may not have voted for trump, but they definitely voted for this.

  • The vast majority of people know for a fact that their vote mathematically does not matter

If a full third of people stayed home, that’s a systemic problem, not an individual responsibility problem.

You understand that in a two party system, these two statements are basically incompatible?

Especially when you consider that we have early voting starting a month before the election, along with mail-in voting being available in nearly every state. If you didn’t vote, it’s because you didn’t want to vote, not because you couldn’t vote. Yes, some degree of civic participation is expected, welcome to being an adult.

Someone commented just a few days ago that voting blue in OK was pointless. I brought up some stats that if every one of the non-voters in OK had voted in the last election, Kamala could have carried the state with 200k people to spare.
