Traditional pasta was folded up to 100 times because of the impurities in the pasta. It’s not necessary with modern materials and mostly done now for ornamental lasagna.

I don’t think I’m interested.
I think it’s taking a different path then the last two, but I don’t see why it has to be part of the franchise rather than a new movie. I don’t think the first two did enough to warrant a whole franchise.

Couldbealeotard@lemmy.worldto Star Wars Memes@lemmy.world•How long have you been sitting on that?English4·5 days agoLucas famously make things up as he went, and retconned many things along the way.
Originally Luke’s sister was a yet to be introduced character, not Leia. The film titled “Star Wars” was retroactively changed to become Episode 4. Han Solo was frozen at the end of one of the films because he wasn’t sure if Harrison Ford would be back. They even changed the voice of Vader in post production, and the original actor found out when he watched the premiere. If you watch the prequels and original trilogy back to back there are glaring potholes. You can’t even officially get the original versions of the movies because Lucas doesn’t want them to be available.

It’s very hard to go against cultural norms, and in many cases can result in being ostracized, imprisoned, or put to death.
Couldbealeotard@lemmy.worldtoMinnesota@midwest.social•Minnesota Supreme Court: Female breasts are not lewd or inherently sexual and can be exposed in publicEnglish262·6 days agoI think this is a disingenuous take. Different cultures all have their own taboos. Is it all social constructs? Yea, sure, but that doesn’t make them invalid within context. By nature they aren’t logical.

Using Plex on mobile is now free for everyone, which is a huge step forward. It’s not a bad trade off for server owners to require Plex pass for remote viewing (which is only necessary if you’re not using a VPN like tailscale for free remote viewing).
I don’t get why people are freaking out over a one off fee to unlock something that has running costs for Plex, which itself isn’t necessary if you just opt for a free VPN client like tailscale.

How in the world could you be upset that a product you already paid for is not providing that specific feature for free anymore. They’ve even made the phone software free!

Pretty shit, but at least it’s not going to majorly affect existing set ups.
I wonder if Synology will realise how bad of a move this is and one day roll it back. This will kill their consumer level market share, do they have enough of an enterprise market for this to make up the difference?
Which version of the series is better to watch? The American version or the Chinese version?
Oh, I see.

I wasn’t a fan of bandersnatch, and I ended up watching a passive edit of the Kimmy Schmidt special.
I discovered very soon into bander that I’m not interested in interactive television. About half way it started feeling like a chore, and then when I found there was dead ends and multiple endings I was looking for the next natural ending to turn it off. If I was watching it alone I probably would have just quit on the spot.
I go to television to be told a story. If I want a game, I’ll go play a video game with a controller better than a TV remote.
