I learned about it because of my kid watching the Octonauts.

8·12 天前

ShowerThoughts@sh.itjust.works•Maybe Stonehenge looks like it does today because they gave up during construction.
3·13 天前A small correction to a common misconception:
It wasn’t Celts who built Stonehenge. They arrived later and used the monument.

9·15 天前That’s kinda cute in a strange way.
I think it’s funny how people never say bye in Suits. They just walk away or hang up.
This is so strange to me. US Americans bring dirt in all rooms of their house, all just for benefit of not being confortable?

2·15 天前It was a credit union, and it was an insider leak.
Or you’re thinking of another financial institution in Canada that lost a lot of information and whose reputation suffered as a result.
It’s the same thing though. Basically there are traditional characters, used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapour, and others, and Japan simplified the characters in 1945, then China simplified theirs, but in another way.
A better comparison would be the hiragana and katakana being derived from kanji.
Also, an incredibly toxic work environment, lots of sexual harassment.
And, not as dramatic, but they don’t care about their own lore. For someone who used to be a Warcraft universe enthusiast, it was annoying and disappointing.
Oh, and World of Warcraft has roleplaying servers, but they don’t care to encourage that whatsoever. Anyone can join those servers, they work the same as the normal servers, and most players there don’t know or care about roleplaying. Trying to participate in a fallen comrade’s funeral while the night elf YOLO99 jumps around you and dances isn’t the most immersive experience.

Sometimes, a video is all you need.
This is indeed excellent, dramatic, intense. Not boring at all.
That makes me think: Game of Thrones also has excellent scenes of pitched battles.

Thanks! That was a fascinating read.
The most incredible place for me is the Mohawk Valley… Rome, Utica, etc.
I think it’s telling that I’ve heard plenty of times about Lutherans and Calvinists but I’ve never heard of Hutterans or Leidenists.
I don’t think that’s applicable to the Middle-Ages though.
OK yeah I heard about this, but we’re talking about the Middle-Ages…
