That I have a tendency towards addiction with drugs. I’ve been high (marijuana) more often than not for the past decade, with spurts of alcoholism peppered in throughout my adult life. I also had a phase for about a year where I did shrooms once or twice a week.
I still struggle with my consumption, but at least now I’m aware that it can easily get to the point where it affects my life too much and can cut back when I’m starting to feel like I’m getting sucked in. I think I’ll always be an addict of some form or another, though.
I saw Elisapie at a local festival last summer, it was such a powerful and emotional performance!
You tried your best
It wasn’t good enough
You didn’t pass the test
Rough rough rough rough rough rough
I miss you <3
(Seriously you’re better off without them!)
Ooo definitely saving this post, I really want to try to get in a bike tour to Montréal this summer (coming from New Brunswick). Those trails look gorgeous!
That’s well and true, but I think what the person you replied to is getting at is that the representation of an entire riding should not hinge on a single vote. Whether Terrebonne ends up Liberal or BQ, the entire representation of the riding hinging on a few votes is ridiculous, and proportional representation would avoid these issues.
This would make a great post on !bicycles@lemmy.ca if you care to share! Seems like an amazing place to explore on a bike, hope you enjoy 😊
Sriracha on pizza, you’re my kind of people.
I actually had somewhat of a dependency on sriracha at one point in my life. I was working at a summer camp, and the food being kinda bland I brought in a bottle of sriracha one day. Then a few others did the same. At the end of the summer, we were basically daring each other to douse our meals in unholy amounts of that rooster’s sauce.
It took me three weeks after the job ended to be able to taste anything that didn’t have sriracha on it.
Today I learned that the Village Acadien is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture! I was sure it was a private enterprise, like Le Pays de La Sagouine.
To anyone reading who has never been to le Village Acadien, I really recommend it. The old buildings they moved there, as well as the reconstructions, are super impressive. The actors are also really fun and invested in sharing Acadian history and heritage.
Alcohol, I’d open a bar and then I’d have money to buy whatever drugs I want. Probably weed.
Fun fact! GoldenEye’s cover art was used as the inspiration for Floop’s Fooglies in Spy Kids.

More like we forced sand to think. Sand didn’t want this.
I’m super cute, generally a mess, and emotionally unavailable.
I’m definitely my type.
I’d love for the place I work at to be an employee-owned co-op or something but those aren’t really a thing around here, and sadly I’m not rich enough to start a business and open one myself.
Also, could you please cut back on the snarkiness a bit? It doesn’t really make for pleasant conversation.
I’m not arguing for my employer to pay me less. I’m just saying I like the fact I make more money when I have to work more.
On a slow day, I’m basically chilling with my coworkers and my customers (both of who I do actually enjoy spending time with). On a busy day, I can be running around making food, drinks, cleaning, without even having a thought for myself or a second to relax and breathe for stretches of like 5 hours straight.
My wage before tips is fair to the amount of work I do if no one comes in. I would not be satisfied with my untipped wage on a day where we serve 80+ people an hour.
Obviously, I wouldn’t complain if we eliminated tips and made the minimum wage close to what I make with tips on a busy day. That’s not what I think would happen, though. Realistically, under the current economic system, most restaurants could not afford to pay their employees that much. Which is why I said in my original comment that we’d need some sort of change to the labour economy before I’d be willing to give up my tips (such as UBI).
With that attitude I don’t think we’d want you at Pride anyways :)
Led is the past tense of the verb “to lead”.
Led is a homophone of lead (the metal) whereas lead is a homograph of lead (again, the metal).
La communauté LGBTQ+ (ou du moins des parties DW celles-ci) ne se sent plus représentée par Fierté Montréal et décident d’organiser un festival alternatif qui correspond à leurs valeurs… C’est quoi ton problème avec ça?
