You’d basically have to go through every one of the millions of components across every square inch to verify there was nothing sketchy going on. Not to mention, you’d have to review all of the software and firmware to make sure it wasn’t modified or sabotaged in some way. It would take an excruciating amount of effort to make it “safe”.

They would crumble much faster than regular cement and pavement, I’d suppose
I think Trump has Trump Derangement Syndrome

Tbh, this is totally reasonable. I’m confident that a 1500 dollar mattress would be better than my 400 dollar mattress. And its not even a crazy price for a nice piece of “furniture”. But there are mattresses that cost 5, 8, even 10k+ out there. Its wild
And here you are with legit injuries, content with a 1500 dollar one. Pretty sure anything past like 1 or 2k is a scam lol

Yeah, I’ve spent my entire adult life sleeping on sub-400 dollar memory foam mattresses from Ikea et al. and I’ve never noticed any weird back or neck issues that couldn’t be solved by making sure my pillow was at the proper thickness/position.
What am I missing out on? I think people just like to blow money, or maybe they could use some exercise to correct non-sleep related musculoskeletal issues. I have been considering upgrading tho. I dunno man
Happy to hear stories if anyone gots any

It was an elitist response that did nothing to educate or inform me or anybody else lol. I don’t even care about movies that much, and that guy is expecting me to trudge through the muddy valleys and icy peaks of uptight counter-culture cinema to seek out and pull “good” movies from the depths of the unknown?
That’s fine–ill just keep listening to my music and appreciating still art as I’ve been doing for the last 20+ years of my adult life.
FabledAepitaph@lemmy.worldto movies@lemm.ee•Trump says Hollywood 'dying' orders 100% tariff on non-US movies to save itEnglish64·12 days agoNo amount of tariffs will make me interested in watching the stuff that American companies have been putting out since 2020. I’m not even looped into the movie industry enough to care which ones were foreign in the first place. Movies are entirely optional and I am totally fine just sitting them out entirely lol.
If anything, this will simply push movie theaters even further from my realm of interest all together.

I’ll happily buy the cheap 100 dollar Chinese tool to fumble with for an extra couple hours on a one-time car repair that saves me 500 dollars compared to the only American option, or 900 dollars going to a shop instead.
Things are just going to end up broken and unfixable in the non-industrial world too.
