I am having a tidy up of Communities/etc so quite a few will go. There’ll be some warning, but it will be done before August.

I do it when I can stack them up and make them into a ladder to climb up to places I can’t reach.
Or when I need to cross wide gaps.
There are? I mean how many can there be really? A hundred? Two hundred tops?
There are people in the world who don’t know what a Pikmin is???
Huh.
The weird part of that is I’ve always referred to it as 640 by 480.
Width by Height.
I’ve never seen it written as Height by Width before. It just looks weird…
Oddly I thought this was “The post that gets better each year” when I first read it.

2·1 month agoI’ve always thought that was true.
But you don’t need to call me stud :)

3·1 month agoBy way of explanation (and it is explanation, not excuse, just to be clear) what you see is exactly what it looks like when I view it on tumblr in my feed.
I will see if I can adjust my skin (so to speak) and perhaps make it better.
The transcript part might be harder, because sometimes I post hundred of lines at once, and (with all due respect) if I am going to start doing that I’ll just end up not posting as often because if I am formatting a text post of 500+ lines into a single image it can take upwards of ten, fifteen minutes, and then having to get transcribe that (even with some automated process) just takes all the fun out of what I’m doing.
I understand the need for accessibility (I get it A LOT at work - we review all the software we produce before we release it) but this isn’t work, it’s fun and when it stops being fun then I’m just not going to bother :)

3·1 month agoWould you, perhaps, like to suggest a better text colour/background colour?
There are almost infinite variations and I could go through all of them before I find one that suits everyone, so if I had a place to start from, that would be helpful.
Yeah…
We get lots of Christmas adverts over here, but they seem to be mostly about families and shops.
If Santa does appear he seems to be in the periphery of things. He’s not the driving force (I’M SANTA AND I CAN SELL YOU THIS STUFF) more of a “Come down to <insert shop here> for Christmas and we’ll make your family happy. You can also see Santa!”
He’s kind of a bonus thing on top of the other things. Not the main reason for doing it, if that makes sense.
Oh I never imagined they were.
I was just commenting on the Coke/Santa thing.
It’s not something I’d ever thought of.
Actually now I think about it I don’t associate Santa with anything in particular. Aside from - you know - Christmas.
I swear this isn’t an attack, however it sounds. Cross my heart, etc.
But the Santa/Coke thing DEFINITELY has to be an America thing, because I never make that connection. It doesn’t even occur to me.
Even the big, red, jolly, fat Santa doesn’t make me think of coke (the fizzy drink or the illicit substance).
I guess the connection never made it over the Atlantic?
Santa does care about people.
It’s literally all he does :)
The best place to declare that is on the internet. It makes a definite statement about being done with it
Ah.
It’s just not a phrase I’d ever heard before.
No es cierto, es el 31
According to the all knowing, all powerful, all wise master of all things :-
“That’s not true, it’s the 31st” (which makes sense in context)
but I think the actual phrase is “No look - it’s the 31st” (I looked it up, although the Spanish dub might have a slightly different wording?).
Edit : I am aware I may have put WAAAAAAAAY too much thought into this reply
To paraphrase what a wise man once said - you look like one of them, but I think you’re one of us.

This was one of the replies to the post, and it just made me smile, so I thought I’d include it :)
I am aware.
But there appears to be a trend to suggest that social media, and the internet at large, is the source of all evil.
That before it came along, life was a perfect utopian wonderland of glory and wonder.
There were no scams, no bullying, no misery, no sadness. We all tripped along singing “la-la-la” and held hands because we were all friends and we all behaved like the good little boys and girls you read about in Enid Blyton books.
It just kind of fucks me off, especially as someone who was born in the early 70s, and grew up in the eighties and got the FUCK bullied out of him before the net, before the web, before social media, before Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and so on.
I just, on occasion, like to take the opportunity to remind people that - for the most part - life has always been shit. That people have always been shitty to one another. That PT Barnum didn’t need and internet to rip the population of a country off, that some people could be bullies without a keyboard in front of them and that - for some people - being driven to kill themselves didn’t require a wifi connection but just having to go to school every day.
And that elections have been won or lost without people making videos of people telling lies.

Wow. That’s a lot of people.
