I read that brushing your teeth can help with cravings, like the cocolate one. The strong taste of the toothpaste acts as a deterrent so to speak.

GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your absolute favourite track from a video game?2·4 hours agoHumm hard to pick, my recent top two favourites are
The Legacy of Bhaal (BG3) https://youtu.be/kbQQAg3IPM8
Lord of Frenzied Flame (Elden Ring SOTE) actually, this whole OST is insanely good. Base game slaps as well
GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto Traditional Art@lemmy.world•What are some beginner "how to draw" books?English4·4 hours agoI’ll give you some suggestions you can download for free from the internet archive
As others have said, The natural way to draw is an excellent book https://archive.org/details/naturalwaytodraw0000kimo_q8c1
Andrew Loomis has a lot of great books.
https://archive.org/search?query=andrew+loomis
Personally I recommend Fun with a pencil. https://archive.org/details/andrewloomisfunwithapencil1 You can start from zero with that one.
He is good for anatomy and portaitureAnatomy for the artist by Sarah Simblet This book has great photos, even to just flip through
https://archive.org/details/anatomy-for-the-artist
This next book I haven’t read myself but is a very important topic!! Some people are scared of perspective because it looks very technical, but it’s not hard at all. You definitely should get comfortable with it!
https://archive.org/details/PerspectiveMadeEasy
Color and light by James Gourney This one is more about painting, but these are concepts that you should get familiar with early on, and some people neglect.
https://archive.org/details/color-and-light-james-gurney-english
Now for video:
The Proko channel on youtube has great tutorials on anatomy as well, I used those a lot arround 2014? So I would look through their archive.
For figure drawing sessions
The Croquis café https://croquis.cafe/ Has a huge archive of natural figure drawing videos and photos, you have to pay a subscription to access but it’s so worth it! They have a free section as well if I remember correctly
Edit:
For materials, start simple: pencil and paper. A cheap sketchbook or just printer paper will do. Whatever you have arround .
And just draw draw draw every day! a little every day will do wonders for you. Don’t be precious with your drawings, and learn to let go of your mistakes and your successes as well.
Check the different resouces and see what clicks for you. Art requires you to pay attention to a lot of stuff, but don’t get overwhelmed. Ask for advice, look for drawing groups/ buddies. Have fun with it.
Little fella looks so pissed! Makes him extra cute :)
GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?16·2 days ago(Some) videogames are just another way to consume stories. their interactive nature makes your imput as a player matter, and if the story is good, (like with any other medium) you get invested in the characters, the world and what happens to those as you progress through the story.
GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Have you ever cried because of a video game?10·2 days agoThe Witcher 3 is probably the game I have cried the most while playing. From the opening cinematic I shed tears because I found it so beautifully made, I cried when Geralt reunited with Ciri, I shed angry tears when I found a particularly gruesome crime scene during a quest.
Tap for spoiler
When Vesemir dies, all the tears
When I thought Ciri died, tears again
The fucking Velen OST makes me cry sometimes.
And I’m only taking about base game here, I haven’t finished any of the DLC’s… Which I know are fantastic so there are still more tears to cry, so… I think I’m gonna go play just now.

I didn’t romance her but through my first playthrough I was willing to sacrify everything for her. It was looking hopeless in the end but I was so surprised and relieved by the ending I got. I love her, but also unsure if I’d like a romantic bond with her.

GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto King of the Hill@adultswim.fan•Just started the reboot last night, and I'm really liking it so far.English9·2 days agoWent in cautiously optimistic, but I was pleasantly surprised! My face hurt from smiling at one point and laughed hard a few times. It was hard hearing Johnny struggle pulling off Dale’s voice though :,(… Also Kahn’s was too iconic, and since the show has lost so many people at this point I wish they didn’t change va’s. Over all I liked the season, might need to rewatch as I had it on as a bit of background.
“Ahh, Kos, or some say Kosm… Do you hear our prayers? As you once did for the vacuous Rom, Grant us eyes, grant us eyes. Plant eyes on our brains, to cleanse our beastly idiocy.”

GrantUsEyes@lemmy.zipto WomensStuff@piefed.blahaj.zone•What do you all think of a WomensStuff supporters group open to all genders?3·4 days agoI’d advice to take the time to curate your experience. Block communities and users you don’t care to see, contibute to communities you care about. It has worked great for me.
Late reply but
I go through periods of burnout and thinking people are losing interest
You don’t owe us anything, when you need a break please take it, or slow down a bit. Mantaining a community is a massive task, I feel that there’s enough of us invested now that we are not going to let it die. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Also
I think I’ve only gotten one of you to actually volunteer
This is awesome!! Thanks again anon, truly. <3
Finally, I want to be more involved in contributing to communities but I don’t want to share whatever just fot the sake of it; so hopefully I can put together a nice post + write up from time to time :) you’ve inspired me as well.
