Liable for what? Medical expenses, funeral costs? Expected life earnings? What about the homeschool/tutoring expenses of immunocompromised kids that didn’t catch measles because the were withdrawn from school due to fear of an outbreak. I’m not trying to throw out straw men to muddy the water, but where do you draw the line between someone’s actions and their consequences.

I’m not talking about criminal charges, just basic responsibility.

Maybe we should be. There are consequences to reckless driving and drunk driving independent of whether you actually harm someone because this actions are inherently dangerous to others.

Agreed, give a chance to flip at the beginning of every turn, since that’s when reactions and a lot of 1-turn effects end.

Also, to further reduce the chance of one player holding the character too long and to add a little fun tension: instead of a coin flip, in order to take over, the player not presenting makes an unmodified DC10 check that decreases by 1 with every failure and resets on a success.

I did not intend to imply that it did. That’s why I said “one other nation” apart from the kingdom, since the nation of Wales was incorporated into the Kingdom at the time.

Don’t blame me. Blame the English. I looked it up before posting: the Kingdom of England had annexed Wales by 1536.

The word goes back to at least 1580 and at that time, and for a good while thereafter, the most prominent speakers of the English language lived in a kingdom on a small island in Northern Europe that they shared with only one other nation until the two joined into one. So for a good chunk of history and during the development of modern English, most travel between “home” and a foreign land required going over seas. Thus “overseas” took on a meaning of foreigness or awayness.

I was thinking the same thing. I’ve only ever seen local voting in various schools and municipal buildings, so i looked up my local precincts:

• 60% vote in churches (though each church serves two precincts…)
• none vote in schools.

At first I thought could be because the schools have tightened up security in recent years when it comes to visitors, but in next zone over in the same school district:

• 75% of the precincts vote at schools
• none in churches.
