I am right there with you. Two words that make me uncomfortable on the internet: content and feed.
Funny that they go together. But I never use them, I just see others use them.

As the tarriff revenue climbs, so will consumer debt. I know most is tied to mortgages, but already people are trying to maintain their homes and feed their families with more debt as prices continue to rise.
I know everyone here knows that, all part of the plan of course.
I find all digital art to be basically worthless, but at least the artists have a point of view or something to say. AI cannot do that. It can attempt to generate similar styles, but without anything to say, the “art” is just slop.
This is why I meet artists, and buy their works physically. Tangible work, mistakes and all, like pen and paper, or sculpture or jewelry etc. But I get that is just personal preference.
Eventually (and in some cases already) digital artists will just incorporate AI into their tool set, just like they did with shaders, and paths, and filters and all the other digital tools. At that point is it really AI art, or is it simply algorithm assisted? The works have something to say, the tool just made it easier to do so. We all know there is no such thing as AI, its just noise to image math formulas, the direction has to come from somewhere.
What is art is always in question: look at the giant hotel and mass produced art factories. Is it still art, even when humans made it, or is just a factory on production mode?
I really wish the corporations would shut the fuck up and quit pushing “AI” that is not AI though.
I don’t even know what that is. Microsoft software on my mobile devices? No thank you.
I think what you posted is great and should be read by people on the fence.
But conversly, I quit windows when XP came out becausei wanted to stop playing Microsoft’s games. There were enshittifying back then and it only has got worse.
I even admin Microsoft systems for a living, have access to nearly every product that make for free, and I still will never use windows at home. Even managing azure or SQL databases or having to use products that are windows only I do it through a Linux machine. Sometimes by pushing commands, sometimes with remote desktop. But I do it because Linux just works, I can count on it. Not so much windows or Microsoft.
Reddit already only allows Google to scrape them now, so as far as I am concerned it is a dead site. Removing my comments is worth it to not feed the monopoly that is Google.
Maybe you are right. But I have seen users say it is harder to set up and then the behaviors of flatpaks can be challenging. I have had issues, and I know what I am doing.
Saw a fan video of watching it live. Hillarious she was calling off each person and then said OMG Its Robert Downey Jr, who isn’t dead and it was actually George Michael. Lol.
I am indifferent that it was AI. It could have been made a dozen different ways: but shouldn’t have. Which is more significant than the method.
It was weird, Ozzy smiling away with his arms around Bob Marley while holding a selfi stick? No, and I like both of them, and what was he Rod trying to say exactly?
Why not just fedora? All these Immutable distros seem like adding even more layers of confusing to someone new.
You are proving my point. Thanks.
And while I am thinking about it…people like you make all of this worse. You have no idea what you are talking about, including insulting me over something I was not saying at all. But you keep being a loudmouth and tell people to be silent. I was not defending any of the negatives of using computers, but relating how YES people complained about them all the way back then, and to some degree the argument never changed.
But you have to realize: using algorithyms (again there is no such thing as AI right now) is not the problem. It is marketing, how people use it without a clue, and corporations. Gee we actually have some things in common.
But then you have to be a dick, and then I begin to not give a shit.
They did say completely. Ban it all they said.
Ban AI. Completely.
That is really short sighted. We all know it is not AI. The marketing is such bullshit.
But we also know that predictive algorithms can be useful. For instance: digitizing a property line, or identifying features in a lidar cloud, or discovering anomalies in blood cells. Then there are prediction tests and what if scenarios.
Seems like this is the same argument people had about computers in general. Ban all computers they said. Who knows maybe this guy in 1968 was right all along. and computers are the problem.
Windows says lots of things. It is surprising how conflicting they are internally.
The thing is, there are a lot of ways to install windows 11. You have a lot of versions to choose from and more options than you think.
Anyways, I think it is all beating a dead horse, although you can get around windows requirements the best thing to do is not play the game.
Switch to Linux and be done with the bullshit.
Or the technology is not as robust as they market it to be and gets those drivers in trouble. Or maybe both.
You still can upgrade for free and use a registry setting to take off the nag screen.
But I really was commenting on people who think they can’t. You can too by buying windows11.
You can bypass that requirement. The hardware is fine you just have to tell windows to ignore it.
2 registry keys if I remember correctly.
They all can upgrade to win 11. Nothing is stopping them. But you have to do a couple of steps.
Either way, Linux is better and Microsoft is playing stupid games.
Not sure why you would care either way, it gets the point across. Were you hoping to rent it?
About that…
The highest fatal accident rate among all car brands…
So you have real world data vs crash test data. I know which one I would pay attention to.
In fairness this is largely based on how drivers use them, but we have seen people over trust the system and get into trouble. We also have seen autopilot make some serious mistakes. We also seem to have a cover up to shift blame back to the driver.
We were talking about this the other day. Is it faster, or does it appear faster since they have removed so many cashiers? Like 20 lanes and 1 cashier, with 4 self checkouts.
