Corporate has introduced an LLM we’re supposed to be able to use in lieu of asking an HR representative basic questions, like vacation policy and how to get resources for open enrollment. It… barely works. If you happen to use the magic words, it’ll lead you to a PDF of the policy you’re looking for. I just call or email someone in HR. It’s better to build rapport and awareness between home office and the satellite offices, anyway. Makes things smoother when there’s an actual issue to deal with and people help people they like, even just a little, faster.

The peace prize did seem pretty pointless since Obama won it for doing nothing. Like don’t get me wrong I voted for the guy and wanted him to win, but it was pretty dang empty to give him the peace prize, especially since he then went on to be in charge while some really ugly stuff went down.

I’m not exactly sure what they’re getting at, but I did see someone from the Nobel Peace Prize committee call for Maduro’s removal just as the US has been ramping up its “anti-narcotics” operations in around the oil and lithium rich country, complete with extra judicial killings of Venezuelans, telling other nations to avoid their airspace and very recently seizing an oil tanker ship…

So it kinda feels like the Nobel Peace Prize committee is trying to add justification to the cause for war that the US is trying to drum up, which is wantonly egregious, so maybe they’re implying that both the Nobel committee and Eurovision are tacit supporters and backers of imperialism.

You gotta check the labels, some have fish sauce in them and I don’t remember which, but most don’t.

Stir fry the paste a bit, add in a can of coconut milk and whatever veg/protein you like, cook down to desired doneness of veg and thickness of sauce. I usually do tomatoes, pineapple, carrots, bamboo and canned mock duck for vegan meals. Comes together in well under 30 minutes, easy. Eggplant and pumpkin are also delicious in this. Bf likes the yellow one with chicken (swap with your desired protein) and potato.

Honey, they are literally the lawmakers and rulers of the country, I’m some dude that makes some part of some company’s wheels turn. People in my position and those like mine do not have the power to run the country while those in Congress do. There is not an equivalency in responsibility.

They have a responsibility and duty to actually help address the many many issues this country is facing and they seem to conveniently only remember that when they can’t possibly muster the political power to do anything useful. They knew Donald Trump and his fascist goons would try to wrestle control of the country again in 2024 and they spent four years with their heads up their own asses. And that’s only looking at four specific years. For decades they’ve done the bare minimum to keep in power all while the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, and those in power got more powerful.

When it’s their turn, they don’t remove or restrict the tools of oppression they know the right will use against the populace. Fuck, they expand them! They either half-heartedly talked about or actively fight against measures like raising the minimum wage, addressing the housing crisis, or the cost of healthcare. Don’t even start talking to me about the civic process being roadblocks, we’re watching those roadblocks break way for the GOP. The DNC never even tries that kind of strong arm behavior to improve things.
