I meant to express that I know they’re not. I just wish there was some way to take people from “Oh China is actually good. This system is better than what we have,” to the logical next step of “Oh, then I should align with American communists.”

I know that obviously China doesn’t want to be the Soviet Union, but man there are so many normies finding out that imperialist capitalist states are actually evil and not in their working class’s best interest and I feel like it would be so helpful if a communist group they’re starting to trust (the CPC) could give them some guidance about which groups in the US are worthy of their support. Imagine what PSL could do with that much manpower. Or how easily the CPUSA could be reformed into a proper revolutionary party again with a million new members demanding adherence to the CPC line.
Obviously they specifically avoid interfering in other countries’ politics, but still I can dream.

I’m sorry but if your “Stargate” isn’t a magical space portal to other planets with a rotary dial, it isn’t worthy of the name.

Thank you for the tips on making these sounds as well as clarifying that my speech won’t sound like gibberish while I work on it!
Trying to learn Chinese and having trouble with some of the sounds that don’t get used in English, or don’t get used in the same positions.
Is messing these up going to make me sound like a guy with a thick accent who needs more practice, or make me unintelligible? I’ll continue to practice them regardless but it’s a little disheartening, often I can’t even distinguish the sounds when hearing them.
God damn, they’d support Hitler himself if he said he supported the IOF.
I do think we should retire maybe later kiddo. That video was annoying as hell for sure but they’re a relentless advocate for Palestine now and have basically fully dropped the Dems.
Most of them are just ignorant but most of them if they learn will insist on using the wrong name as a show of disrespect (though they’ll sometimes make up an excuse for why it’s not naked disrespect, see the Wikipedia article talk page).
Oh no, I said on XHS that I ran Werewolf the Forsaken and hope to run Exalted in the future on a “what TRPGs does everyone play” thread and Google translated ran as “worked on” and I got multiple messages from someone who came from another social media site to the thread to talk to me because they thought I was one of the authors.
I am in shambles.
I must redouble my Hello Chinese usage, Google translate will betray you when you try to connect with nerds from another country.
Smarter than me, but it’s okay, only one or two days of stress. Worth it to spite the tax prep industry.
I’ve used these a few times. I think part of my frustration is actually from using different filing software so then they want old info from previous returns and I have to acquire it from the other company and they want my 12 month old password to let me in?
Idk, I know it raises my stress level and then I basically block it out till next year kol
Every year this is my task because my partner hates doing math and we both refuse to pay those hr block vampires for it, but I always have an emotional breakdown at some point because I can’t find some dumb pin number from 2 years ago or something.
Made the mistake of watching The Wild Robot with my kid, had both of us bawling multiple times. Really good movie.
Thanks for the encouragement! I absolutely will keep at it.
Yeah, I also use it sometimes to translate multiple shorter comments all at once.
Yeah. I mean I don’t expect them to interfere with anyone at all, much less us. I just want people to take the logical leap from “China good actually” to “Perhaps communism is generally good?”
