I expect that it is the final boss. Simon Manus. But I won’t rule out that there could be another one - perhaps Geppetto is showing up ?

A bit late to the game, but I ended up playing Lies of P. Reached the final boss fight late last night, got stomped and went to bed. So now I am sitting and waiting for my workday to be through ….
1 in everything except intelligence. That would maybe be a 5 :p
But it is the 9th today :|
It’s not the failure of our parents, it’s the exploitation by the capitalist class, that did this.
Yes, that is why I made the post, because I heard from several places that is should be like super punishing and one of the most difficult souls like - which isn’t why I wanted to try it, I just really loved the setting and atmosphere - but I just don’t find it super difficult.
And it’s not like I’m trying to humble brag, I got my ass handed to me in Elden Ring, Sekiro and Demons Souls. So I by no means consider myself a good player at all. Maybe there is just something with the combat that clicks with me in this one.
But I’m not complaining! I am super stoked that I am on the verge of actually finishing a soulslike. I had completely written off the genre.
Well you could argue that you should spend LR (or first play through in the case of LoP) to learn the mechanics and then utilize those skills in HR (or in new game), but I see your point. And I do enjoy my big ass glaive, but as mentioned I will look into the other weapons in my next play through. There are some pretty nifty looking ones I must admit.
And fought the green swamp monster boss. Loved the design, but first time around I didn’t keep an eye on my durability, so my weapon broke mid second phase. I didn’t carry a secondary weapon so it impaled me and did unspeakable things to me :( Second time around I got it though!
Well I think it is too strong for a beginner weapon. It should have been a reward for something imo, not just a choice of starter weapon.
But okay, when/if I start a new game, I will put it aside and start experimenting with other weapons.
It’s the same problem I have with Monster Hunter expansion gifts. Playing through Worlds with the gifted armor set for the most part trivialise a lot of monsters, doesn’t encourage forging new armor or upgrading - because why would I? I already have the best low rank armor and it is basically a tool to rush to the game to get to late game content. You know what I mean ? It’s the same feel I get with the azure crescent thingy.
No it’s the AZURE DRAGON CRESCENT GLAIVE - sorry for the caps, it was a copy paste from a wiki :p I use it because it was given to me at start and it’s good, but it is so good that it keeps you from actually engaging with the weapons system until … well I haven’t used any other weapon yet.
Well I would never tell anyone that they are playing it the wrong way. People can do whatever they want with the game that they play, so it is solely for myself that I feel that I wouldn’t beat the game if I did.
That being said I use the summons in every boss fight, because the game obviously wants me to do so. And according to YouTube Elden Rings wants you to too. So for me that is playing the game as intended. And again if people wants to not use them, I won’t patronise them for doing so.
And thank for the tip! And I will just stick with the broken collab halbard thing for now. Which I have a lot of opinions on!
I ended up using them for elites I don’t want to deal with. Like that stupid double shielded bastard on the walking rails in the Grand Exhibition.
I stayed on the default difficulty. I know it is allowed to turn down the difficulty, but then it feels like I didn’t actually beat the boss/game.
And yeah I am excited to see how I do as well, because I just found the saintess statue and was able to respec and not have a stupidly none focused build. So I went down in technique by like 10 levels, undid my motivity and whatever the one for carrying capacity is called and got some more health and stamina in return.
And I will keep you posted!
Yeah she is definitely the hardest I encountered so far. Just beat that big steroid guy and going to the marshes now. I must say I am enjoying and it might be the first Soulslike I actually finish.
I totally agree with the Gemini voice breaking the atmosphere, but zomg I love the setting. This postapocalyptic modernist high society victorian age… mmmh it just makes me drool.
lol okay, that is really cheesy. Just tried it out on the white lady and the few throwables I had on me took the quarter of health I needed to take her out. In the last couple of attempts I managed to get her down to 25% before dying.
Cool trick, but I don’t think I will be using it. It does seem like real cheese.
Lol the White Lady is already more frustrating, although not being a proper boss.
Yeah I read that :p but I don’t like throwables, because it makes me rely on a super limited resource to deal damage. So I just never use them :p
Thanks, I changed my grind stone element thing to fire, but that was pretty much it. Now the big guy is red pavement paint!
Also totally dig the nick!
lol I totally agree. Personally I don’t find phase one that bad and with the right combo of dodges and parries he becomes manageable. Phase two though, Jesus Christ a shitshow. Dodging punishes you, parrying punishes you and keeping a distance punishes you.
I gave it 40 goes and figured I might as well go grind a bit, to see if I can get some more damage. Because I do absolutely no damage to him, when I finally do get an opening.
