Just got done switching to Bazzite and couldn’t be more satisfied. Super similar to Steam Deck. Almost everything on the gaming rig worked right away.

My bookmarks are heavily organized with foldering and structure, named concisely for what they are, and typically only allowed to be frequent visit type of sites. If they’re stale and old, they get removed.

This cartoon makes me think of those people with desktops full of documents and links. Makes me anxious when I see that.

Earlier this year Costco was in the news effectively telling the Cheeto Nazi administration to get fucked and they reinforced their standing behind their DEI policies.

That’s just one example. I don’t think they are the capitalist enemy you should focus on. I’m inclined to believe them on this one.

Growing up in all this (both school and church), I remember a few arguments teachers and church leaders would make:

• Essentially there was a short period of “incest is okay to get things rolling” until it wasn’t.
  • The sons had children with their mother to get that ball rolling.
  • There were tons of other kids not named and the siblings did it.
• A theory about other people outside the garden of Eden. This is almost certainly true since some translations clearly imply the existence of other people/towns when Cain is leaving. This is also the most plausible answer.
• We don’t know cause Genesis was likely written by Moses thousands of years later from flawed oral history

Also, the same issue and questions arise again in some ways after the Flood and Noah’s Ark. The resulting cousins all had kids together?

Mostly I remember these apologetics kind of discussions just got us in trouble for asking obvious questions and questioning logic.

While I massively criticize religion anymore, what I will say is that my belief was these religious scripts are possibly holding some truths, but the oral history, telephone game of it all, AND ancient peoples not knowing how to properly explain things results in what we have here, which, if taken literally, is fucking stupid.

It helps to think of the Bible and most religious texts as fables rather than history.

What helps solve all of this is not playing online hype games. Single player ftw.

So explain to me how I’m supposed to take it when the supervisor laughs with my colleagues about it and then continues to bring it up at later meetings?

I mean just one fucking example. I also personally know others who have experienced this.

Enjoy your fucking privilege that nobody treats you as “different” in life. The rare occasions a person who actually has a shred of fucking decency corrected me, they did it nicely. Yes that happens. But the numerous others times where straight up fucking assholes make an embarrassing scene out of it … somehow that’s MY fault??

You presume they’re a friendly person. You cannot comprehend being bullied or laughed at. Some people, myself included, and some I have witnessed get laughed at. Especially in certain workplaces.

You simply assume nobody is a jerk, and so you cannot comprehend how meaningful those rude interactions are. Presumably because you experience some kind of privilege that others don’t frequently attack how you’re “different.”

I’m talking about the embarrassment. Maybe you haven’t experienced people being mean about it, but some of us have.

Rarely have I experienced people nicely correcting me or others. Its usually mean and involves laughing.

If it’s due to history of mistreatment and lack of care, then by that logic we should give all minorities a discount as well.

But here’s the thing. Today’s soldier ain’t even CLOSE to dealing with what Vietnam vets or older vets dealt with.

Today’s wannabe Punisher is just a likely wife beater loser who had no direction in life, served a few years, became even more bro, and then went to a policing agency afterwards where he could flex his control fetish over the general populace. That motherfucker that needlessly makes every interaction more intense than necessary needs a blanket of worship for simply having signed up to serve in a military that basically takes anyone? How special.

Our garbage collectors do more difficult and thankless work today than most military. Tending to the Officers golf courses doesn’t warrant shit.

A kid spends 5 years in military, lifetime discounts. A teacher spends 5 years teaching, lifetime debt. I really don’t get the point.

A lot of seniors are just assholes but not part of a murder industry. Lots of military worship straight up feeds into fascism and nationalism. Fuck that.

A ton of them later become cops too.

So you guarded a pointless fucking parking lot at a base in New Mexico, whoopdeedoo, you’re a vet for life and everyone will bend over for you. But the teachers at our nearby school just keep getting fucked over? All the government workers who ensure our basic infrastructure works don’t matter?

It’s all tilted for a reason. Fuck that reason.

I dunno. People correcting me on this stuff like an asshole just give away what fucking assholes they are. Its one of many mechanisms that helps me cut past the bullshit and realize who is absolute fucking scum by the way they treat others.

Edit: Interesting how so much privilege is in here assuming no assholes exist and things don’t happen. Try being disabled in any way in high school or certain workplaces. I have experienced it numerous times, and I’ve witnessed it done to others.

Some have also been doing democracy theater for hundreds of years.
