Do we? Gestures to world around me - really? Yes children show poorer impulse control than adults. But aren’t we all somewhat helpless in the face of the mighty tech companies?
Had less vague gestures and more links to evidence and studies
aren’t we all somewhat helpless in the face of the mighty tech companies?
To a degree yes, which is why I support the ban and want it extended, I hate how twitter still has every bad take there is and all the bad takes on that platform show up EVERYWHERE, I can’t get away from them

4·2 days agoMcKenzie, a shooting enthusiast, said limiting gun ownership from law-abiding farmers and sportspeople was the wrong response. She slammed Albanese’s move to include hate speech and gun rules in the same bill.
“If he was really serious, he would take on his own constituency in western Sydney and deal with the actual problem at its source.”
Hate it when the Liberal party make a good point ☹️
I feel like we already have enough rules, it’s quite clear to me there was an intelligence failure not a legal one

The Telegram channel Vahed Online has recently released videos showing a massive number of bodies from Iran’s protests at the Kahrizak Forensic Medicine Center in Tehran. According to the descriptions provided, these videos are from Saturday, December 20, 2025 (20 Di 1404) and were obtained by an individual who has recently left Iran.
The person claims they traveled nearly 1,000 kilometers just to access the internet and send the images. They stated that the bodies of those killed in the protests were placed inside refrigerated container trucks, with the number of corpses exceeding 2,000 in a single day. A full container—an 18-wheeler refrigerated truck—was completely filled with bodies.
The individual also explained that families who identified their loved ones would visit the forensic center to document bullet wounds and obtain necessary permits (with a specific code) before the body was transferred for further processing. According to them, around 2,000–3,000 bodies were moved in just one day.

2·3 days agoi’m conflicted, taking money from companies I don’t like in the form of advertising doesn’t bother me, I mean, Santos sponsors it but ?? who gives a shit? are you planning to buy whatever it is that Santos sell? if not screw it just take the money
I’m like if BP wants to sponsor a climate change conference go for it, so long as they don’t get a chance to lobby and do other things, just a name on a banner, go for your life
But I understand this is controversial, there’s a big thing against gambling advertising on during the Rugby but I have never gambled and never will, so from my point of view they’re just giving money to something I actually want

Stock price wise the company is clearly worth more because it’s selling more and making massive amounts of money and by massive I mean they’re printing money right now
The other part is that the 3 major players SK Hynix, Samsung and Micron have basically said they don’t want to oversupply the market and when the AI bubble pops have memory prices go through the floor again, so they are treating this as if it’s a bubble and in a few years time the demand will subside, so they are not blowing up all their capital to expand as quickly as possible
https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/samsung-raises-memory-chip-prices-by-up-to-60-percent-since-september-according-to-reports-ai-data-center-build-out-strangles-supply
I saw Samsung may already be in the process of building a new fab but i cbf looking up further, basically looks like higher memory prices, for longer, with no oversupply glut with cheap prices once the bubble pops like in the past :(
