So the ability to permadie would be a lives system that you could run out of lives? That seems like an old design philosophy to me.

I am very interested on what you mean by that.
I really love this game. I’m glad more people will be able to experience it.
This was a really good read. I learned a lot.
It looks like this is a really different idea from normal monitors, where there are multiple screens layered so that your eyes are tricked into seeing depth. Kind of like 3d tv technologies, but different. I don’t know if it will catch on, but I’d like to see it in person.
This was a tough watch. It’s a shame that this happens so frequently with barely hiding abuse in overseas workplaces.
It sounds like they were visiting in-laws for holidays and was reminded how bad it is out there. From my cursory reading, they aren’t living in close proximity to this, but that doesn’t mean it stops existing.
This has very little to do with my opinion of women’s agency and has more to do with my opinion on human agency in general. I have known many women in my stem field who are better than me at my job, and I know many that have faced discrimination/hostile work places.
I mention the Scully effect (see also the uhura effect) because as humans, we aren’t immune from propaganda, and when media companies accidentally or purposefully make a character that inspired people, it seems weird to not acknowledge it?
The number of big Hollywood directors is small, so general workplace trends might not be as noticable, but I still think that the typical director in media is depicted as male. I think that would have a noticable effect if you could find two populations who had experienced different depictions in media, and polled them about dream jobs.
This is often driven by media portrayal. If young women aren’t seeing women being portrayed as directors in media, they might not make the mental leap to “I want to be a director, and I think it’s possible”. For example, the x files led to women in stem having more confidence in their choice of career (STEM career). https://geenadavisinstitute.org/research/the-scully-effect-i-want-to-believe-in-stem/
That’s a good point, and they are down a RB.
As a vikings fan, that’ll be us lol. Detroit is unstoppable when healthy, and they run a tight ship with all of the backups they have. If it isn’t the vikings year, I hope it’s Detroit’s, they deserve it.
We lost power for at least a week after Helene. There were plenty of people that weren’t prepared and freaked out, but by and large, I saw people pitching together to share fuel, food, water and company. It was a tough time, but it was nice seeing the kinder side of humanity.
I think there are quite a few belief systems that have an explanation for how there could be a benevolent god and suffering in this world. But that doesn’t take away from your point that a lot of people use positions of power in religious institutions to commit heinous acts. It’s a bigger problem because faith systems make it harder to call out leaders.
Lol, the random censoring because of short form algorithms bugs me too.
This is a great point that has changed how I view this. Thanks
Why did you censor that word?
So well under half is a big change.
No racist thinks their racist. They think they’re right.
The thing that this teaser has, that I needed, was seeing superman being good. When he saved the girl, I realized how much I’ve missed that from all of the Snyder movies. Superman is supposed to be an ideal. Having Clark not save his own father was as dumb as when they made Steve Rogers a Nazi in the comics. It betrays what the character means down at their core, and I don’t think we learned anything else in the exercise.
This can’t be a coincidence. Something has to be going on. Do you have a refrigerator in your attic that is that exact shape?
