Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you brush your teeth in the shower or the sink?
52·1 个月前Same! My current partner doesn’t mind and I actually convinced a previous partner to adopt it so there are at least two ladies out there who are neutral-to-positive about it.

Sorry, couldn’t resist. You’re doing a LOT. I hope you can get some assistance on one or more fronts. And I hope you can give yourself some grace.

Guitar Pedals@lemmy.world•Please recommend me a distortion pedal that sounds good with a neutral-ish amp that doesn't have any overdrive.
1·3 个月前If space is limited more than budget, maybe something like an HX stomp? That would let you explore lots of sonic landscape in a very compact package. But otherwise I was gonna say maybe something like a green russian style muff, which you could use on either your bass or guitar.

2·3 个月前Bummer! I wonder if the clock just has a bad crystal. Maybe the solution is to instead use the gif mode to display something fun.

1·3 个月前That’s a Gigrig G3 I think? They’re pretty neat. Would love to try one sometime.
The Deco. There’s a really cool feature on that pedal that lets you ramp between two different knob states with an expression pedal. I have it set just to sweep up the mix amount on the delay, but you could have it change all of the knobs if you wanted. I use that just on one song during a solo to add some extra sauce, lols
Thank you! This setup is for metal/punk-adjacent stuff, along with a few melvins and red fang covers.

Here’s the amp. It’s a Hilbish beta 200, which is similar to a Sunn beta lead/bass. Cab is a mesa 4x12 w/ v30’s and k-100’s in an X pattern. It riiiiiiips. On top is a Strymon Deco, which sits in the loop. It’s always on (just the delay side), and I control the mix from 0% to 40%ish with an expression pedal that sits next to my pedalboard. I just use that in a couple spots for solos to give it some more cool soupiness.
Coooooool. I’ve been wondering about these things. Thanks for posting!

Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•First time trying to make a custom keyboard. What problems does this one have?
4·4 个月前If you’re new to pcb design, I’d recommend learning KiCad! I haven’t designed a keeb pcb in a few years so my skills are rusty, but I learned the basics with this series on youtube called ‘getting to blinky’. There may be better or more up to date ones available these days, though. I’d maybe just take one of the side macro pads and just make that as a standalone to get the hang of it first before going hog wild with the whole thing. Honestly though, despite how tedious it is, handwiring a matrix isn’t too too bad!

Mechanical Keyboards@lemmy.ml•First time trying to make a custom keyboard. What problems does this one have?
6·4 个月前Wow, that’s suuuuper custom. What firmware? Are you going to hand-wire it first to test? The only half size mechanical switches I’ve seen were alps, but I don’t know if they’d be available for sale anywhere these days. Nor caps. If it were me I’d probably just mock up the layout in cardboard with switches and stuff to see how it feels, then go from there.
Wow, so clean!
