Our cat Mac has a bedtime. When I’m getting ready for bed, he’ll sit on the edge of the bed, yell at me, and headbutt me. Then he lays in the crux of my abdomen and legs while I’m curled up. Makes it hard to reposition but it’s too cute to disturb.

I keep telling people that AI will atrophy their brain the same way that tools like Google Maps did. We can’t navigate for shit now unless a piece of software tells us the route. The same thing is going to happen, but to really important judgment and thinking skills.

My wife has had her dog shit work PC on the network all this time without any of my forethought about this. She has problems everyday with that stupid OS. Fuck.

And we still have to play the guessing game where we try to estimate the number that the government already knows, but won’t divulge to us, like some sort of fucked up psychological game.

This is clever. Thanks for sharing! I’ve been kinda doing this manually using Cursor. I put it into “Ask” mode and it walks me through bits. If it’s coding work that I prefer doing (I’m a frontend guy but can do backend), I write the code myself. That way I’m still retaining the knowledge like you’re doing.

It’s amazing to me how so many supposed capitalists (the folks that should be at the forefront of smart investing), are throwing money straight into the fiery pit that is AI. It’s like watching an arms race between Fallout corporations.

20 years in the tech field for me, if you count my start as a graphic artist. I don’t even know what I’d pivot to. Cyber security maybe…?

I feel like my life is writing prompts to AI now. If you don’t fall in line, you’re basically out of a job. A human can’t keep up. If the goal was to completely ruin my desire to write code, they’ve succeeded.

Nobody wants that, but unless you’re a bootlicker, you’re not going to let thugs barge into your home. I know I won’t, but I’m also going to do everything in my power to not let them in to begin with. Shooting intruders is the last resort. They’re no different than home invaders in my eyes.

And Copilot is still one of the weakest AI offerings out there based on my experience.
