They have plans to release it on consoles eventually yes.

I’ve been playing Gaucho and the Grassland on Steam for a review. Really nice game inspired by Zelda but with it’s own Latin American fantasy twist.
Today I got Donkey Kong Bananza delivered, so it’s on like Donkey Kong for the rest of the weekend. Like you, I only played a little bit. You can definitely find the “Mario Odyssey” dna in it, but it’s different enough. I had so much fun just destroying stuff, I didn’t advance the story at all. So far seems pretty fun!
I don’t recognize any of the games, but I’m a sucker for beat 'em ups. I’ll definitely get it if it comes out on a physical edition.
What a great game Cadillacs and Dinosaurs was! I hope they manage to re-release it one day, I think it’s in licensing hell, that’s why we’ve never had it on modern platforms.
Yeah, I really enjoy reading these “Ask the Developer”, there’s always interesting stuff to learn about the games when they interview the people who made them.
The screenshot of the Switch 1 DKB prototype was cool.
I love seeing stuff like this and the development video of the Goomba!
I did watch Power Rangers a bit when I was younger, but I don’t remember anything. I’m sure there are a lot of things that are cool references to fans, but I missed all of that. It’s still super fun, it definitely stands on its own.
Last weekend I finally played Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind in local co-op and we finished it. It was really good, the different gameplay stages make it very fun. From the modern beat em ups, it’s the one that’s made me feel the most like I was playing Super Nintendo in the 90’s. Hope Digital Eclipse keeps making their own games in parallel with the compilations of retro stuff, I love all of it 😁
I got all the shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and beat Ganondorf. The final battle was pretty spectacular, I liked it. I don’t know if I’ll be back to Hyrule any time soon, I feel like I’ve neglected my other games, but there’s side stuff I can still have fun with.
How useful is the app?
I mostly use the Navigation feature. You can choose what you want it to display: Shrines, cave entrances, stone tablets, etc. And it shows the ones you haven’t discovered, so that’s the main thing for me. The feature that tells you where to go like a GPS is not that useful. If there’s a cave entrance close to a shrine, it’s usually going to be in that cave. It does tell you to go to the cave entrance if you activate it too, in case you’re lost.
I vote for DK, since I’ll be getting that too. 😀
I’m not 100% convinced with DK. The Direct made it look awesome, but in my mind I’m relating it too much to my experience with Mario Odyssey. That game was ok, but it didn’t feel so much like a Mario to me. I prefer 3D Land and 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, the Galaxies, and any 2D Mario. It looked really fun, but I didn’t have that much fun myself. I’ve gone back to Wonder and 3D World, but not to Odyssey.
Also Cyberpunk looks amazing and it’s a third party full game on the cart, so I want to support them!
I’ll need to decide…
I’ve been playing mostly The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I want to do all the 152 shrines before I go back to finish the main story. I’m at 136, so only a few more to go. I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch App with the navigation to have a look at the map and see where the shrines I’m missing are. They’ve been mostly inside caves so far.
After I’m done with Zelda, I need to decide if I’m getting Cyberpunk or Donkey Kong as my next big game 🤔
Yeah, I didn’t get that either. It looks the same to me?
Same. At times I think it’s genius, then I think it’s utterly ridiculous, maybe it’s both 😆
Yeah they said “this winter” in the Direct and it’s on the Nintendo.com website. I assumed that meant they didn’t have the confidence to say 2025. Or maybe they just have the flexibility in case other things don’t fall into place. Either way, I can’t wait for new Hyrule Warriors on Switch 2!
Hyrule Warriors is expected “this winter”, so it could slip into next year.
I’m thinking Kirby Air Riders and Metroid will be November and December (don’t know in what order), to have a big Christmas title, but I have no idea 🤔
🤣
The OST on CD is the first CD I ever got!
Congratulations on the Switch 2!
I’ve made the mistake of trying The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 enhanced editions… So now I’m playing TotK again. I think in regards to the main story, I’m probably close to the ending. But I’ve been just enjoying stuff and not rushed to finish it. Initially I thought “what’s the big deal with these updates? I can’t even notice a difference”. It turns out you have to manually go to the eShop and download them 😅 Once I installed the “Switch 2 Enhanced edition”, I could definitely notice the difference! It does feel like a whole new experience on the Switch 2. My current objective is to get all the shrines, but -as usual- I get distracted constantly with side quests and discovering things I haven’t seen yet. It’s such a good game! And it plays amazing on the Switch 2.
I’ve been playing Mario Kart World and enjoying it. Online races are wild! Though I haven’t checked out the recent update yet. I also went back to Mario Kart 8 for some online with a friend. I need to do some more of the Knockout Tour stuff, but it’s also really fun to replay GP and go on Free Roam mode.
I also got Fast Fusion and I need to check out the latest update!
The video shows the Nintendo Switch logo at the end.
This looks so cool, I think I’ll need to get a Summercart or something so I can play it!
The gameplay trailers for this look really good. It seems like the physical release will be the full game on the cart and not “Game Key”, so I might be getting it 🤔
They’re also adding documentary material to learn more about its history and the behind the scenes. Based on previous work by Digital Eclipse, it’ll be worth it!
Personally I own them on GOG too, but I haven’t figured out how to make them work fullscreen on Linux. And I prefer gaming on the couch in the TV or take the Switch with me anyway.
Now that I have 2 Switch 2 games (Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza), I appreciate how much better they look than the all red Switch 1 boxes 🙌🏻
