I have done this innumerable times at multiple jobs. Maybe it happens a lot more than you think

World News@lemmy.world•Mojtaba Khamenei, son of ayatollah killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes, named Iran's new supreme leader, state media reportsEnglish
61·5 days agoNot necessarily, Iran wasn’t taking the threat from Israel and the US seriously when Khamenei the elder was assassinated, but they certainly are now. I think it depends on how much intel Israel is still getting from inside Iran
This is literally George W. Bush’s fault, he’s the one who pushed the DST changes several weeks earlier in the spring and later in the fall in 2005. This and Hurricane Katrina happened at the same time.

She’d probably say “You’ve always been a disappointment to this family. You should’ve gone to war with Iran last year.”
No, that was Jean-Claude Van Damme

Pravda News!@news.abolish.capital•US press manufacturing consent for ground invasion of IranEnglish
2·6 days agoI think I missed the part with examples of how the media is creating consent for this? On the contrary, I feel like I’ve seen mostly articles about capitalist interests: how this is going to raise gas prices, increase inflation, and hurt the economy. Outside of the typical right-wing propaganda outlets like Fox News, the sense I get is the media recognizes this is deeply unpopular and there’s little rationale for it. I do wish they’d push harder on those points rather than just reporting “facts,” but that’s a longstanding criticism.

21·6 days agoit was never meant as a directed/individualistic comment
You should probably have said something like “my bad” and explained yourself then, rather than insult people who read your words and all took the same thing away from them. Your intentions are meaningless when your words don’t explain them

Literally puts life on line to help others
“Why are you so stupid that you don’t understand my rhetorical device?”
You could just say “good work” and move on rather than debase yourself like this

41·8 days agoI don’t know if you’ve ever spent much time in Cuellar’s district, but there aren’t very many progressives there. It’s culturally very conservative, but also more collectivist given the Mexican and Tejano culture, so they don’t fit as naturally into the Republican party and are more likely to support moderate or conservative Democrats. That said, Henry Cuellar is fucking awful

Where does that funding come from?
