I really love reading these posts of yours, especially Zheng Yi Sao (Woman Pirate, Fuck Yeah!)… I need to read your post on Wu Zao next
I really appreciate reading about non Western women who kicked arse 👍
When I die I hope it’s doing 2 of my favourite activities- sitting and doing nothing.

Thank you for the book suggestion, I had a brief look online and it does seem interesting, I’m going to acquire a copy… if he can describe the inner workings of computers in a humorous way, and if I can maybe learn just one new thing, then I’m in! 👍
Thanks again
Ah okay 👍
I’m quite happy with Mint, but I do have 2 laptops, one for travel and the other I can use as an experimental playground.
I think trying Arch will be out of my comfort zone right now, but I can see that as an option once I’ve got to grips with the basic stuff
Thank you, I appreciate it 😀
Thank you, I think this may be what I’m looking for (also I had it bookmarked and had forgotten about it)
If you do can you drop me a message to let me know how they perform? I’d really appreciate some real life feedback on someone braver than me
Please tell me you’ve gotten a flaming skull or similar, that would be excellent for peri/post woman to rock 🔥 💀
Holy shit, I need to start meditating again, this may just give me final push to start doing it 👍
I agree with with your comment and couldn’t put it better! I will add (for myself) making/creating art really helps me, and also baking healthy food. Both take me into a chilled out zone… also me and the bf are going to get e-bikes so we can get out and about, fresh air, exercise and greenery, whilst not killing ourselves, (but you don’t necessarily need an e-bike for that)
Also, I’m really sorry that your private journal was weaponized against you, no-one should have to experience that
Suffocate Me, and Heartbreak to Hate are my standouts!
I read a while ago that Shirley did a solo album while on hiatus from Garbage. If I remember correctly the record label wanted to turn into a new Annie Lennox, which she objected to, and instead she served up an (unreleased) record of neo goth darkness… I would sell a kidney to have a copy of that
I’ve not been to Canal Street for ages, I remember the first few Pride events consisted of some male go go dancers in hot pants, dancing on the back of a low loader as it drove down the street, I couldn’t afford the ticket for it today
Five and a half hours, that’s dedication! (and pain) You’ll have to post a photo when it’s healed up
I’d love to get one myself, but I can be very changeable when it comes to what I’m in to, and wouldn’t want something so permanent, piercings can be taken out, hair grows back
Having said that, there are some astonishingly beautiful tattoos out there, and there’s part of me that still wants to freak my mother out!
Yes, I knew it was on the cards, but didn’t expect it so early, thought it might be a tease, alas no…
I’ve not heard of The Pitt, I’ve been watching Severance and the White Lotus, but now they’ve finished I’ll be looking for new TV to binge watch
I’ve only tried one mineral sunscreen and that was full on Coco The Clown 🤡 so I’m very wary of them!
My regular ones have been La Roche Posay, which have really high PA ratings, but are a tad lardy. The Asian ones though are amazing, I’ve a couple of Skin Aqua ones, my fave (so far) being UV Super moisture Essence
I think that if I’m going to be out and about for long periods the LRP are the ones to use (they feel a bit more ‘heavy duty’ but that could just be the lard effect). If I’m just nipping out the Asian ones will do the job
Have you had prolonged sun exposure whilst wearing the Skin Aqua and not burned or tanned? I’m still wary of trusting them completely (I’ve had some horrible sun burns in the past and am really paranoid of the sun)
‘I’ll be in my bunk…’ 😜
Goretex is amazing, I have a Mountain Equipment coat for hiking, biking etc, I’ve had it over 15 years now and it’s still going strong
It’s great seeing water beading up and rolling off my goretex trainers after I’ve stood in a puddle
If you do get a coat I’d get a shell so you can layer it up in winter and still wear it in summer without, unless you live in Canada or Scandinavia. I’m in the UK, we don’t get arctic weather unless you’re up a mountain in Scotland in January
I have a few Rains of Denmark coats, they come i loads of colours and have a thin and rubberized coating, so while a bit of a sweatbox during hot weather they’re perfect for inbetween ‘not cold, but still not warm enough either’
Also a knirps fold up umbrella- small and light weight to put in a bag for those heavier downpours
And BOOTS!! never forget the boots! I’m still encased in Docs coated in plenty of dubbin, and wool socks from Bridgedale, keep you warm but not sweaty
It’s surprisingly dry-ish here, but always likely to just go torrential at a moments notice
I think I’ve finally worked out how to apply sunscreen so it doesn’t become a greasy slick on my face that inevitably finds it’s way into my eyes
I read on labmuffin about using a cushion puff and it works, that plus a light dusting of corn flour on top and I no longer look like I’m coated in lard…Big whoop! Just in time for summer too 👍
Also what’s everyone watching on TV?
I’ve just finished Apple, Cider, Vinegar on Netflix about cancer faker and scammer Belle Gibson, which was really good, and now I’ve started on The Last of Us season 2. I really love Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in this… mmmm Pedro Pascal 😍
She’s got a fantastic style and attitude, I still covet being ginger because of her!
I think I have most of Toris early albums, Little Earthquakes was such a definitive album for ‘the pour your heart and soul out confessional’ such a brutal and beautiful record!
I also love her DIY approach to pianos, how she dismantles and rebuilds them to get them to do just what she wants musically, got to love a woman who can do creative demolition
I remember Madchester and clubbing *in *Manchester too! Sankeys Soap, dingy popup clubs in basements, the walls coated in sweat
I was on the fence with Oasis at the time, but appreciate them now the hype has died down, I really like Noel Gallagers High Flying Birds tho (Noel is the more talented of the two, and less of an arsehole)
I do actually want to get a Raspberry Pi at some point… been thinking about it for about 5 years or so, BUT at the moment I want to concentrate on what I have rather than buy hardware I may take some time getting round to using
