As far as I know, hexbear.net is a similar Lemmy instance same as midwest.social (yours) or lemmy.sdf.org (mine). Hexbear has a general focus of communism – though that feels very reductive and I don’t mean leave it at that, I just don’t have the skill or care to do any better.
Due to various groups (instances) politics, they are often disconnected-from (defederated).
I don’t know if I did a good or bad job explaining this cuz I’m a little drunk, but I hope it’s been at least a little bit helpful
Your lemmy instance probably defederates from them, so you don’t see their comments. They are a bunch of communists that many others don’t care for and pre-emptively disconnect from.
Personally, I appreciate their perspective and generally am glad to see the discourse.
Oh we’re getting weird around here? Coool
This thread is an example of why I’m happy for hexbear

So we’re working our way back around to the picture, albeit slowly

My sense of smell is pretty bad. I only keep milk in my fridge for coffee so it lasts a while, and once it’s past the date I smell it every day assuming it could have gone bad. Usually it hasn’t, but occasionally it has curdled into chunks, and apparently I can’t tell the difference with my nose - only once the pour feels “off” or the chunks make their way into my coffee can I have any better indicator.
