You could make an argument that if a song is listened a lot, it means a lot of people find it good and thus is could not be bad. But then again, Suicide Squad was a successful movie if you were to base your judgement on popularity.

News@lemmy.world•Bill Gates Admits ‘Affairs’ With Russian Women as He Apologizes to Foundation Staff Over Epstein Ties: Report
3·13 hours agoMicrosoft does not care about you, your computer or your licence. Microsoft cares about having a monopoly in business applications. By being the only player in this field, they ensure that they remain the (almost) only OS on personal computer. If your work uses Microsoft, your school will teach you Microsoft and you will more than likely buy a laptop to run Microsoft product. And they will collect everything.

2·19 hours agoAn electoral system always creates a ruling class. If you want to remove it, you need to randomly pick citizens and rotate them every x years. It’s the only option to have a legislative body that is actually representative of the people, be it for the better or the worst.

1·1 day agoI would tend to agree with you, but I worked a few years as a reporter. The pressure to shit articles as fast as possible, the time constraint and the constant fear of loosing your job sadly does not allow proper reporting. This has a deep impact on society and nobody gives a shit.
When I was younger, I would often splodey too when thinking about Carmen electron

News@lemmy.world•90% of Prostate Cancer Tumors Contained Microplastics
1·2 days agoI don’t know if it is misleading or simply a lack of scientific literacy from the reporter. I can see how the hospital communicated to news outlets to push their findings to get money, and the reporter saw the strong 90% and rolled with it because he doesn’t know better. Or at least I prefer to think this is the reasoning instead of malicious intent.

News@lemmy.world•90% of Prostate Cancer Tumors Contained Microplastics
28·2 days agoAlthough this is a scary number, it is worth considering this comes from one hospital and 10 patients. It is a strong hint to pursue research in this area but I wouldn’t call it a proof yet
At least he’s not named Longnoz or Beageers Goldstein…
