    Moisture. Sugar candy gets all sticky, and paper would never come off

      Waxed paper, maybe? There has to be something better than this.

        Some candy comes in waxed paper, but wax is also a petroleum product so…

          Yeah, I guess if you wanted to reduce waste you could supply it as logs that get cut off from? That way there is at least less plastic per piece

            The “wanting” seems to be the issue. Both with the consumer and the producer.

            Ideas for alternatives

            As long as we buy and companies sell, change will be extremely slow. Probably too slow.
