Honestly, that wouldn’t be the worst thing. It’s not great, but it would still be a small step in the right direction.

Tesla really isn’t anything special. Switching to Teslas requires solving a number of issues, particularly relating to charging. If they solve for Tesla, they solve for the rest. Especially with NACS coming to everything, those cars can easily be replaced the next time with e.g. Ford EVs.
