definitely just the beginning of escalating political violence in America
Not quite the beginning. I’d say we’re at the tipping point, where attacks against notable people on ‘the other side’ start ramping up. It’s usually significant amounts of time between attempts. The congress baseball game, the congresswoman shot in the head, the plan to kidnap the governor, the attack on paul pelosi, the two minnesotan families attacked, rand paul (though that was because he’s an asshole of a neighbor more than politics, wasn’t it?)… all of these were pretty spread apart. Now we’re getting to mere months between political actors being targeted, and I don’t see it slowing down. With a dumbrident trump literally making ‘war’ memes about sending troops into american cities, we are going to see things get even worse.
