Almost 50 percent of Teslas in Denmark flunk recent safety inspections, spotlighting recurring faults in braking, lighting and suspension. These findings fuel fresh concerns about Tesla’s build quality and reliability in Europe’s fast-growing EV market.
TFA is a bit dramatic. Teslas, like all EVs, are heavy for their size. Because they don’t need regular maintenance (oil changes) they don’t see mechanics often. I’m not sure about the model3, but the Model S had a spiffy suspension setup that provides an excellent ride and good handling but does wear quickly. BMWs also have this “feature”
I know people will tolerate terrible suspension indefinitely until something actually breaks. I mean, look at any car with a torsion beam setup.
With all that said, the report states that the overall failure rate is 7% and Tesla is 22% so despite the dramatic reporting it seems like an issue that should be investigated. After 4 years, the suspension shouldn’t be failing.
