mods feel free to delete this if it breaks a rule or whatever but i just want to rant:

i live in poland and subscribed to YT premium as a spotify alternative to listen to in the background while i’m working. i have to use a US VPN in order for certain work software to function and YT took it as a slight against their bottom line and ended my subscription. no warning, no emails, nothing. just cancelled.

i contacted support and was told “if everyone did this it would hurt YT’s profit margins.” that argument doesn’t even work in this context since i’m VPN-ing to a location where the subscription literally costs more than where i actually live. they told me i could resubscribe on a probationary basis as long as i don’t use a VPN but again, i need it for my job. there’s no point in trying to do things the “right” way anymore. i really tried. so i guess it’s time for me to say goodbye to the mainland and begin my journey across the seven seas.
