A demand for free insulin from Nina Turner prompted the New Hampshire Libertarian Party to suggest she should be an enslaved person “picking crops” in a metaphor gone horribly wrong.
For a group advocating freedom… This what freedom is to them… That’s really messed up.
Whole lot of ‘comrades’ lately wanting to see people linking up with libertarians like these as part of Rage Against the War Machine, typically in willful ignorance of the shit they do like this to basically signal that if you’re Black, queer, or otherwise non-cishet non-white, you’re not welcome there.
Unless you needed context on the ‘fifteen minutes’ remark; in which case, I just want to beat the brakes off whoever tweeted this odious garbage.
Working with libertarian orgs is a bad idea all around. They range from re-skinnned fascists at worst to embarrassments (even among libertarians!) at best.
Individual libertarians, though, occasionally offer some potential for bringing people around to socialism. You’ll find some who give a shit about other people, aren’t bigoted, and who will be critical of businesses as well as governments. There’s something to work with there, in my experience.
Oh yeah, libertarians have ridiculous ideas and are essentially the opposite of us as they want corporations to run every thing. I haven’t heard people saying we should work with them before so that’s why I was confused

I 100% agree here. From experience and know a libertarian.
Sounds similar to those who say “we must debate - both sides” to things like "we ban bigots for reasons "
