          The adapter they plugged the male usb end into is not intended to output anything in the opposite direction. Second reason is it was plugged into a strip not the wall directly so both these would prevent eop from working correctly. Last reason is the dongle is intended for a laptop without an rj45 port but somehow the user found this device that was unused and decided it was for a printer they wanted to move from one side of the office to the other.

      They only work for lines on the same circuit, power strips are technically the addition of a circuit breaker with the surge breaker on them. I used to use several in my old apartment

          I’m just saying the instruction on each one I owned said don’t use with a UPS or surge protector as it won’t work. Needless to say I tried it anyway and it didn’t work lol tbf they’re a bitch to get going on the same circuit as intended anyway, they’re fine once connected though. I only had to re-pair them once a year or so
