good film, well animated
why would they ever do this? what’s the catch?
Some other studio got most of the way through production, then got bought out by Disney. The Walt Disney Company® (DIS) continued funding the project for something like a month, then canned it (methinks tax write off – all cost and no gross; edit: i completly forgot our leading man is romantically involved with another man, and (DIS) executives are either homophobic or scared of what homophobes will do to their bottom line). A subsidiary of Netflix, Inc.® (NFLX)† picked it up on the cheep, wrapped up production, and put it on their steaming service. As far as they’re concerned, it’s just smart budgeting to stretch a cheep acquisition as far as they can. Loss leader!
†
presumably Netflix Animation® but im done clicking through wiki links
probably to promote it over its "Best Animated Film’ Oscar nomination
I found a YouTube link in your post. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Hah. I still remember the original comic from tumblr. It was a nice read, I can’t believe how far it has come
