Sure. But it’s the dominant opinion in the GOP. It has to be; the majority of their policy positions are at odds with the academic community.

Their only response to that is to allege vague, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about sweeping fraud and corruption. Of course fraud and corruption exist, but it’s a matter of scale. The kind of conspiracy they’re talking about would require absolute secrecy across millions of people all over the world. That simply does not happen.

This is one of the main reasons I left the party after 15+ years and being raised in it. It always bothered me that most of the smart people who’d done the hard work to understand their disciplines were not Republicans and it turns out there actually was a good reason for that.

Well yes but actually no. For example when Republicans talk conspiracies like a giant elite pedo ring…, it actually exists. But instead of it being beneath a Pizza hut it’s on Jeffrey Epsteins island.

Furthermore we have all been able to observe the insane amount of coordinated propaganda coming from all our mainstream media lately to manufacture consent for israel’s Genocide. Especially the consistent usage of biased language in favor of israel.

All of our big media conglomerates being owned by a few select wealthy elites sounds like a conspiracy but there’s very clear ownership diagrams that show these links too.

Which is of course the real problem, liberals can’t debunk stupid Republican conspiracy theories because it would require them to acknowledge some very uncomfortable truths.

The Jews controlling the media is an anti-semitic trope.

You may package it as ‘’‘Zionists’‘’ control the narrative and go on about non-Israelis also being Zionists to give yourself cover, probably because you’re in denial, but it’s incredibly transparent.

Especially because you just can’t stop yourself from banging on about it all day long. This thread isn’t even about Israel, but here you are again going on about “all of our mainstream media” being controlled by Zionists to “manufacture consent for Israel’s genocide.”

Yes, I have said this to you before. No, I’m not going to stop calling you out when I come across you doing it. Which is apparently constant, given I come across you doing it so regularly. It’s bordering on the pathological.

Zionists and Jews are entirely different things. Why do you keep conflating these two?

You keep saying anti Semitic things and then accuse others of being anti Semitic.

I’d say the only person you’re fooling is yourself, but you also constantly post stories (which are justifiably) critical of Israel in Western media when it suits you, despite constantly going on about the ‘’‘Zionists’‘’ controlling those same media.

            As Sartre put it:

“Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”
