Edit: this is good news. The Cultural Revolution led to some dodgy decisions about what’s worth preserving, I believe. I’m glad to see how much China is doing in terms of preserving heritage nowadays. It’s also building museums in Africa, which is a huge development. One of the arguments from the west is, ‘we can’t return what we stole because Africans don’t know how or don’t have the resources to look after it.’ That falls flat on its face when China’s built you a high tech building.
