The stupid thing about taxes it that they are complicated by design. This is great for the ruling class because they can afford to hire accountants to exploit loopholes, while us peasants pay the full price. This is “legal” but not necessarily right. Governments had time to level the playing field, make things simpler and close loopholes, but they rather enforce reporting of all transactions above 600USD because it’s easier to go after the little guys. Now we’re not asking anymore and they go surprised_pikachu.jpg

Taxes are intended to benefit the common good. If you use the money you saved to help and lift up your local community instead of spending it on yourself, it’s arguably not even morally wrong.

I know, imagine being able to fund your activities by forcing everyone to pay up at gunpoint, even if they disagree with what you are doing with the funds, then using those funds to cause murder and chaos all around the world. These freeloading scum must be stopped, Monero is the tool to get that job done peacefully.

If the form of money prevents scum from getting their hands on it then I do not care about their decisions because they will have no power to execute any of them you fool.

I hope you don’t drive on public highways, have any kids in the public school system, or call the fire department if (God forbid) your home catches fire. Because those are some of the good things your taxes are supposed to go towards supporting.

If your country has a transparent tax system where money only goes towards public highways, education, fire department and so on, I can only congratulate you. I would not have a problem with paying (or with other people paying) taxes in such a system.
More likely than not though, your country (through taxes paid by you) is funding a war and terror in my country. Killing/wounding hundreds of thousands of people.
But sure, you have the moral high ground because you pay for public highways…

            indeed

there are wars all the time, tax payer money funds wars. It would be very hard for governments to start or keep wars going without tax payer money. If there’s no more money, govts just get loans which of course will be payed by tax payers.

And then after the war is finished in some place, international banks give loans to rebuild and it will be payed by several generations of tax payers, even people that haven’t even been born yet will be paying.

But having said that, endless wars, the killing and the suffering don’t matter because highways, please people think about the public highways. We shouldn’t complain about the funding of wars, whenever there is war just tell yourself it’s ok and don’t even mention how wars are funded because highways.

Well said. Until the war criminals and degenerates are routed out and the system completely reformed to be 100% transparent, accountable, and audit-able by everyone not 1 XMR worth of wealth should go to them.

I am willing to give up all those “good things” if it means my wealth will not be used to murder people around the world.

Any service that people want or need will be paid for the people who want or need that service. The state steals and wastes 90% of what is collected. We would have all those things and they would be 10 times better without this giant parasite.

I would never send my children to “public schools” these are worthless indoctrination centers, requiring poison injections and teaching kids how to worship the state as their god and accept any evil that comes from “authority”.

Sounds like you had a good run through this system.

            Thank you.

I will say for the record that I don’t agree with a lot of things that you post here, but I am much grateful for this ^, as it might save some lives.
