    Heat pumps are designed to last 15-20 years. Even if the power source is a coal plant today, there’s a fairly good chance the power source will be solar or wind or something else halfway through its life. That’s the beauty of centralized power generation and electrification.

      Apparently newer models are more like 20-30 years, conservatively, depending on use case.
