This major update mostly fixes how pictrs, the local image hosting service, saves its data.
As always, let me know if any issues arise. I don’t think this will help with any federation issues we have been seeing. But now that we are on the latest and greatest patch, we can rule out versions being our issue for now.

Gotta love UI design…
So, if I select all languages, not just undetermined, I can finally see and respond to comments.
It means that if a new language is added, nobody will see it, which is clearly user antagonistic.
The upshot is that apart from DM between Mastodon and Lemmy and back, everything appears to be working.
Thank you for your perseverance.
As for the spam, seems to me that blocking that instance explicitly would resolve the issue.
Yea the language setting makes absolutely no sense to me. As for the messaging between mastadon and here: doesn’t work for me either. Maybe lemmy doesn’t correctly parse DMs from other services? It’s good at nesting messages but DMs may be something it doesn’t quite get yet. Or maybe it’s straight broken 🙃

I was tailing our logs before this update and we are definitely federating. HOWEVER, there is a **LOT ** of spam coming from a particular instance. I’m wondering if that was holding back some of the proliferation of our posts, comments, and votes.
