I wasn’t going to post anything but honestly - I have to get this off my chest.

I made a LinkedIn profile as it was suggested by a recruiter. I was told that people who don’t have a LinkedIn “don’t get real jobs”.

I’ve been on this ass platform for less than 48 hours and all that I read on this app is people posting daily statuses about how they “love grinding” - “hard workers love overtime”.

Excuse me language, but what in the actual fuck is this nonsense? Why do I have to post a photo and a bio of myself to get a job, what is the actual fucking relevance?

Jobs should be begging me, not the opposite. Get fucked linked in.

Thanks for reading, have a good day.

LinkedIn is bullshit, for sure! I was laid off January 2, 2024 and for the first few months I was insanely active on LinkedIn due to the belief that you had to in order to get a “real job”. I get anywhere’s from 75-150 views on my portfolio all of the time, and I’m still unemployed in a traditional sense. I’ve been using this time to build up my client base and try to start my own business. LinkedIn hasn’t done jack for me. It’s also cringe as all hell. The “Top Voices” and influencers on there are off the charts narcissists.

Also, be aware that at least half, if not 3/4ths of the jobs posted on there are scams. Recruiters push LI because it’s their lazy way of recruiting. It’s LAZY. Don’t listen to that person. Your resume will get much more attention applying directly anyways.
