I want to disable offline auto-completion for facebook.com
, bbc.com
and other ‘popular’ sites on android.
I found the lists of domains were added with this commit https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-android/commit/65fdbf4696a but I cannot find a suitable about:config option to disable this feature.
I had this issue with sponsored websites. It took me a while to figure it out, but this resolved it for me:
When you just disable showing sponsors, Firefox will still autocomplete them.
- You have to let FF show those sponsors on the homescreen.
- Then remove them one by one from the homescreen.
- After all are removed, you can again disable the sponsors in the settings.
If this guide is too vague, I can be more explicit.
Here? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-or-remove-search-engine-firefox scroll to remove near the bottom
Firefox on desktop does not have this; also its not related to search engines, these lists of domains are embedded into firefox.
