I know no court would agree and the cops would kill you before you got to court anyway but this is exactly how it should work. If that badge number is covered, as far as I’m concerned you’re not a cop, you’re just some dude in body armor attacking me, I’m standing my ground.
The same should be true if they don’t have a bodycam on and operating. A little harder to tell by sight, but if they can’t produce body cam video of the arrest then it’s no longer an arrest but a kidnapping.
