Three shows shot up the chart this week: Kaiju No. 8, Delicious in Dungeon, and Go! Go! Loser Ranger! I haven’t watched Kaiju, but have very much been enjoying the other two shows. I believe this marks the first time that Delicious in Dungeon has cracked the top 5 on this chart, even including last season. I do think it is kind of funny that Date a Live was able to overcome Konosuba in the rankings only to be leapfrogged by Kaiju.
Something else I found interesting is there are three isekai that are just outside the top 10:
- 11th: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3
- 12th: Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers
- 13th: Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- Season 2
Edit: It seems like there were some technical errors in the poll last week meaning that Kaiju was lower down the ranking than it probably should have been otherwise. So, the big jump this week might just be a more accurate representation of where the AC voters would have put it before.
Goddamn Dungeon Meshi episode 16+17 hitting hard I guess.
In regards to slime: three episodes of people talking around a table will do that
Kaiju’s plot finally getting rolling in the 2nd episode.
As much as AC gets ragged on for its love of romance, there doesn’t seem to be much support for the obvious romance shows this season: Condition Called Love 14th, Whisper Me A Love Song 28th.
Not much support for bishonen either: Black Butler 37th, Vampire Dormitory 40th.
Even the strong F2F relationships in Seiyuu only get it to 26th.
Is Elf Bride really a romance show?
I wonder if the romance lineup this season just isn’t strong enough to overcome the pull of action shonen. The only romance I am watching this season is Level 2 Super Cheat Powers, and that is really equal parts power fantasy and romance, so not terribly representative.
Check out Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night (n°21 on this ranking). It’s way better than expected.
Also I can’t believe date a live is above konosuba ;o;
Kaiju No… 1?
